Hello Gems!!! Im learning alot about myself while pulling together this Fall Capsule Wardrobe. Like the fact that I looooove Fall separates, Fall jackets, Fall colors..especially jewel.
So, on the list for the Fall wardrobe is a pair of non-denim pants . What better for the Fall than a pair of tweed suit pants. They are great for dressing up, dressing down, businesswear and such a versatile piece over , but I couldn't just make the pants. I had fabric left over so I also made a matching tweed jacket.
Honestly, I will probably wear them with my converse a majority of the time but its good to have the option. I used Butterick pattern 5250 for these pants, they are high waisted and they have a wide leg. Now this pattern did come with pockets and I am a big fan of pockets but after starting the pants I decided to leave out the pockets so the pants would not be so bulky around the hips. Well, needless to say l keep going in for my pockets...I miss my pockets yall. I love the pants but I do want a pair with pockets so eventually I believe I will make another pair.
For the jacket however, I used pattern. This is a pattern Ive been holding on to for a while and had plans to make with other fabrics but didnt. I finally made this jacket yall and looooove it. I mix it with so many Fall Capsule pieces as you may have seen recently.
This jacket is Cynthia Rowley for Simplicity pattern 2443. It is a little different from some of the jackets Ive made in the past. It has this weird loop and tie closing that doesn't really work closed for me but it looks very unique when left open with all the ties hanging. Most likely, this is the way I would wear it anyhow. I did leave the cuff off of the jacket, didn't really fancy the gathered sleeve and love the loose short sleeve with slit much better. I paired this Tweed two piece with a graphic tee and my converse of coarse. I wouldn't have it any other way!😁😘 Thats all for now!
Until next time!
Marcia
